OVERVIEW

NGOs’ Registration under section 12A is for tax exemption. Any Trust, Society and Section 8 Companies registered under section 12A are provided onetime tax exemption. And NGOs which is not registered have to pay taxes like any other normal organization.

REGISTRATION UNDE SECTION 80G

80G Certificate is issued to NGOs by the Income Tax Department.80G certificate is to encourage donors to donate funds to such organizations. The benefit that the donor avails by donating to such an NGO is tax exemption on 50% of his donation as the donor is allowed to deduct their donations from their Gross Total Income.
