OBJECTIVE

This government body was established to develop industries relating to the scheduled products for export by providing financial assistance and subsidy schemes. It also frames guidelines for better standards & specifications and carries out inspections to ensure the quality of such products.

THE LAW

Under section 12 sub section (1) of APEDA Act 1985, every person exporting any one or more of the Scheduled products shall, before the expiration of one month from the date on which he undertakes such export or before the expiry of three months from the date of coming into force of this section, whichever is later, apply to Authority to be registered as an exporter of the Scheduled product or Scheduled products.

REGISTRATION-CUM-MEMBERSHIP CERTIFICATE (RCMC) –

The Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) is issued to exporters of the specified product. The Certificate validates that the exporter is registered with the relevant Govt. agency and has been granted a license to undertake export business by the Indian government.
With the objective of simplifying procedures and ease of doing business, w.e.f. 01.08.2015, the issuance of RCMC has been made online using digital signatures.

DOCUMENT REQUIRED

    • Details of office (registered, head and branch)

    • signed and sealed copy of application form.

    • Self-certified copy of Import Export Code (IEC) approved by DGFT

    • Bank certificate in the provided form to support the financial position of the applicant.

    • Certified copy of MOA (in case of a Company)

    • Partnership deed (in case of Partnership firm)

    • Trust deed/Memorandum of Rules & Regulations (in case of Trust/Society).

    • Proof of Registration with other export promotion council/commodity board (if any).

    • Details of the Licenses issued by any sponsoring authority
